I waas scanning my good alerts today and came across this article about why people would kill for obama inauguration tickets. Being from africa - kenya for that matter i am and have been used to african leaders so beleive it or not obama is not that much of a big deal with me. Since i was a little baby i was dealing with black presidents. Its the same thing, just a guy who’s a little tanned.
Now heres the thing thats coming up with obama, this country despite being miles ahead of europe and the rest of the world(even you china) has never had the guts to have an african american for president. Maybe it was the approach of the african american leaders who were vying for presidency that were taking the wrong approach. The truth is, its never about having a black man for president - nope its about having an american for president.
Obama subconsciously understood that, living in hawaai indonesia and allthose other states was insulated from some of the crap that has robbed this country of some amazing african american leaders. At the right time, its tough for me to see how much everyday such a great country treats its citizens like crap and i think obama did. I didnt grow up in america and came here in my early twenties so its not ignorance but pure delight seeing america taking this chance to have a dreamer in power. This should be different from the jimmy carter days. So when i read this article here and i quote..

I think of this energy as the same urge to overcome ancient barriers demonstrated by my cousin so long ago. It’s also the reason that I’d like to attend the inauguration on Jan. 20. To witness the strength and the courage of Americans like my father, my cousin and the millions of Americans who made their will for something new loud and clear.
Obama’s inauguration will be a celebration of his election, sure, but to me it’s more a celebration of all the Americans who made this day possible.
Please let me know if there’s a ticket available for me.”
